Tiede Tolsma (1971) heeft eind 2004 de opleiding tot creatief vakfotograaf aan de fotoacademie Amsterdam afgerond. Hij studeerde af in de specialisatie landschapfotografie. Maar ook op het gebied van bedrijfsreportages, met name in maritieme reportages, en het fotograferen van theater en toneelvoorstellingen heeft hij zijn sporen verdiend.
